The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Klick Konnect Networks International Akure has charged members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) not to limit themselves to Engineering work alone but also to look inwards to other things they can do to create wealth.

Ajipe stated this on Friday while delivering his speech at the Young Engineers Empowerment Lecture organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers in Akure Ondo State capital.

Chief Ajipe who was represented at the program by the National President of Akoko students Com. Akinyele Lemuel urged the NSE Branch to flush out quacks in their field to maintain integrity and creativity in the interest of everyone.

In his lecture title ” Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship For Young Engineers”  Ajipe urged young Engineers to be more creative and have knowledge of different ideas.

In his worlds “Your  creativity should not be limited to the technical space. Give yourself the freedom to think outside the box. If you cannot craft out a business in the engineering space,  you can craft out a business in the fashion sector”

‘There are no limitations to what you can do; and the fact that you have a competitor is an added advantage. A competitive environment, whether healthy or unhealthy, gives wings to your creative abilities to fly.  The more you seek for knowledge, the more your creativity horizons expand. Seek knowledge outside of what you were taught in school. Acquire sellable skills and practical knowledge. Without practical knowledge, you can’t develop your creative abilities and without sufficient development of your creative abilities, you cannot thrive in business”. Ajipe said

He also advised young Engineers to create a new method of doing things by introducing new ideas into the profession.

He continue “The world needs something new from you as a young engineer; a new concept that eyes have not seen, a new idea that can be birthed through your skill so that the world can be made into a better place. The earlier you start applying your creativity as an engineer to the problems around you, the better this world turns out to be and the more replenished your creativity ability gets”

“Growing up, engineering was a big deal. Just the title meant riches and wealth; and the expertise gained would make you land your dream job and, in some instances, your dream girl. However, right now in the 21st century, the tides are slowly changing. It is no more about what you studied in the university or how cool you appear but about the value you have to offer to the world. What is the difference between then and now? The difference is creativity and where creativity lies is where entrepreneurship thrives”

The event also featured Induction of New Corporate Members and Awards of honour to 3 deserving citizens of Ondo State, Engr Babajide Akeredolu,Secretary, inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19, Hon. Akeem Jimoh Humility, Senior Legislative Assistant to the Speaker, National Assembly Abuja including Chief Dr. Alex Ajipe for their immense contributions to engineering and nation development.
