Shoprite Finally Bids Nigeria Farewell After 16 Years

Shoprite has finally been acquired by a Nigerian business mogul, Tayo Amusan of Ketron Investment Limited. This was announced in a statement issued by Tayo Amusan, Chairman of Ketron Investment Limited where he confirmed the successful acquisition as well as the approval of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

The statement reads as follows, “We are thrilled to complete the acquisition of Shoprite, ensuring the continued operations of one of the biggest retail success stories in Nigeria.

“We look forward to building an even stronger company following our acquisition and are excited about the greater impact we will achieve to the benefit of our customers and other stakeholders now and well into the future.”

Ketron Investment Limited is a subsidiary of Persianas Investment Limited, a property firm and developer of the popular ‘The Palms’ which is owned by Tayo Amusan.
