POINT NEWS had earlier reported that the Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Godswill Obioma was murdered; however there have since been various controversies on the cause of the NECO’s boss’ death.
While the wife of deceased Godswill Obioma maintains that her husband was assasinated, the son of the deceased maintains that his father died after a brief illness. “The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything,” Mrs. Obioma told Peoples Gazette.
On the other hand, Prince Godswill Obioma the 2nd, issued a press statement to the National Examinations Council (NECO) thus, “Dear Sir, this is to formally inform you that my father Prof. Godswill Obioma, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO passed to eternal glory yesterday 31/5/2021 after a brief illness. We request that you kindly notify the Board, Management and the entire staff of the Council of this development. We shall keep you duly informed. Prince Godswill Obioma the 2nd, for the family.”
Another confusing information on the cause of death of late Godswill Obioma came in when the Director of Human Resource Management NECO, Mustapha K. Abdul said that the late NECO boss slumped in his bedroom in Minna and was rushed to the National Hospital. Abuja where he eventually died.
These controversies have raised suspicions concerning the death of late Godswill Obioma in the mind of the public.
