The All Progressives Congress has announced the postponement of the proposed nationwide Congresses slated to hold on July 10 till further notice.
This was contained in a letter to INEC signed by the Chairman of the Caretaker/National Convention Planning Committee of the party, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni and the secretary Senator John Akpanudoedehe in Abuja, on Friday.
The letter said the exercise has been put on hold till further notice.
The party had earlier released a timetable for its Congresses starting from the ward level to the Zonal level. In that timetable, The Ward congresses will hold on July 10th, local government congresses are fixed for August 6th while the state congress will be on September 3 and zonal congress for 30th September, 2021.
Its over one year now that the All Progressives Congress (APC) set up a Caretaker and Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) with a mandate to reposition the party and conduct a national convention within six months, the party is yet to fix a date for the national convention to produce a new National Working Committee (NWC) to take charge of the day-to-day workings of the party.
