BREAKING: New Iralepo Of Isikan Crowned, Moves to Palace

The new Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin Adimula Arulewolasi III has completed his traditional rites of ascension to the throne.

As the penultimate step in the traditional rites, he was crowned on Thursday as the 38th on the Iralepo dynasty and the 49th Oba of Isinkan.

He thereafter entered the ancient palace for Iba ceremony which saw the Uharefa, other Chiefs, the Omowas and several notable people in the society taking turn to pay homage amidst the resounding chant of ‘Uyi!’.

The traditional ceremony began early on Thursday in line with over 6,000 year-old Isinkan Obaship tradition and customs of Isinkan people having received due approval of the state government as required by the laws.

All the chiefs were in their full traditional regalia to perform the rites.

The Monarch took turn to go into Igbo Ooye, visited Arogun’s compound where he and his daughter performed the rites of coronation with the three traditional beaded crowns.

Immediately after he was crowned, the new Iralepo climbed “Okiti Omolore” to the admiration of residents and well wishers.

Oba Arulewolasi III subsequently addressed his excited subjects who filled the Palace to capacity.

He promised to defend the interest of the people of Isinkan at all times and ensure that the ancient throne of Iralepo is protected against any act of sacrelege and preserved for generations yet unborn.

He promised to support the state government to ensure continuous peaceful coexistence of all residents and rapid development of the kingdom.

The new king commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN for his love for justice and for being an icon of truth.

The Palace stated that the Official Coronation ceremony of the Monarch would hold at a later date for social celebration.

As demanded by tradition, the new Oba formally released his regnal names to the public as Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin ADIMULA, Arulewolasi the third, the Iralepo of Isinkan.
