Hours after the Haitian President was assassinated in his own home, the Police have killed four suspected assailants while two of them have been arrested.
This was confirmed by the police chief, Leon Charles in a televised briefing late on Wednesday. He said, “The police is still in combat with the assailants. We blocked them en route as they left the scene of the crime. Since then, we have been battling with them. Two of the attackers had been detained.” Of the rest he said: “They will be killed or captured”.
Speaking on a local radio station, the Prime Minister of Haiti, Claude Joseph confirmed that the attack on the President was carried out by an “armed commando group” that included foreigners.
